The future
This is what is facing us now and in the future. God has given to us a vision for the future and development of that hospital – and together with the vision, the patience and determination, with God’s help and leading, to see it come to fruition. Little did Aileen Hagen realise when their son suggested some equipment for Diptipur Hospital as a memorial to Geoffrey what it would lead on to and what God was asking us to do.
In fact, it is exciting to see how God has planned for it to work out. The infrastructure of the hospital needed to be strengthened as well as the spiritual support from the diocese. But how do we, go about such a task, especially from this distance? And what authority do we have?
Have you learned to trust what you read in Deuteronomy, ch.30, v.11. Now was the time to learn that if God calls, He also equips, leads and has already planned how it will come about. An odd comment in an email from.
The Director of Diptipur Hospital told of a doctor who was invited to visit the hospital in September 2005 and wrote down his vision of what Diptipur could become.
Dr Sanjeebit Jachuck time in India is spent largely in Orissa, where he was born and brought up in the town. He works in collaboration with the Indian government, National Human Rights Commission, to promote rural health programmes and Family Medicine and also in connection with Vellore Christian College and Hospital.
His vision is to modernise and revitalise all Christian hospitals in Orissa and to introduce the Orissa Christian Hospital Fellowship to include all hospitals in Orissa, including Diptipur.
The smaller, weaker hospitals will have help and support from the stronger institutions.
I did not imagine that this is how God would work, but if we are willing to say yes when He asks us to follow Him, we should not be surprised.
In the meantime, your support is invaluable to them and they feel that someone cares. If you are interested in joining us in this vision by prayer or giving, thank you.
