Junior Christian Endeavour (JCE)

It is in Junior Christian Endeavour that boys and girls start to learn about the Bible, and to get to know about God and Jesus. As they progress they can begin to train for service for Christ through full participation in the weekly meetings and in church activities.
The motto of Christian Endeavour (CE) is 'For Christ and the Church', and Junior CE is an organisation whose main objective is to bring boys and girls to know Jesus as their Saviour and to begin to train them to serve Him through the Church.
The basis of Junior CE is the weekly meeting which provides a great opportunity for members to learn through games and other fun activities about the Bible. As their knowledge grows they should be encouraged to take a more active part in the meetings in order to learn to:
- read the Bible aloud
- pray with and for others
- choose and sing hymns and choruses
- listen to music
- act in plays about the Bible
- prepare Bible based quizzes
- become committed to Jesus Christ as their Saviour
- become committed to lead a Christian Life
- prepare and give Christian talks suitable for their fellow Junior members.
As they advance there are opportunities for Junior CE members to take part in CE Training Schemes which certificates and badges.
Our Award Schemes (Great Britain and Ireland and Scotland) have a number of tasks that have to be undertaken to obtain certificates which provide the basis for the awarding of Badges at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels.
