What are they:

Tranquillisers are illegal without a prescription, they are depressants.

Tranquillisers are prescribed by doctors to treat anxiety and insomnia. They relieve tension, anxiety and help relaxation.

Effects:

Tranquillisers can cause drowsiness, lack of co-ordination and sleeplessness. They have been known to have been used in date rape.

Mixing with alcohol is dangerous and could be fatal.
